Sunflower oil infusion is excellent for infants to help heal and prevent diaper rash, and for Infant massage. Studies using sunflower oil have been conducted involving premature and low birth weight infants who are often susceptible to infection due to their underdeveloped skin. The study determined that premature infants receiving a daily massage treatment with Sunflower oil were 41% less likely to develop infections in hospital.
Oil massage for newborns also reportedly improves weight gain and overall growth, by better thermoregulation. Studies show massaging prematurely born infants demonstrated enhanced weight gain and an increase in body length.
Application of oils through massage to pre-term babies resulted in enhanced weight gain and neurological development, and a shorter stay in the hospital. (source PubMed)

Oil

Nourish your skin with our Organic Calendula Oil, we've created by infusing organic Calendula flowers in organic plant oils famed for their skin benefits. Calendula oil is created by infusing whole plant material into a base of plant oil.
While most Calendula oils are in a base of Olive oil or Jojoba, we infuse organic Calendula oil in a base of 3 fabulous Organic oils, due to the extraordinary beneficial skin properties each present, over Olive oil and Jojoba.
We develop this organic oil from Certified Organic whole flowers of the Calendula officinalis plant, which are in full bloom at harvesting. The flowers are carefully dried to retain their beautiful color and light herbal aroma. This process assures optimal extraction of their bio active compounds. The flowers are then infused for weeks without heat into 3 fabulous cold-pressed and certified organic oils; High Oleic Sunflower oil, Camellia oleifera oil, and Rosehip Seed oil, creating a fabulous nourishing skin and hair nourishing oil.
Our infusion process combined with the ingredients chosen ensure the highest quality, highest-grade therapeutic oil to nourish and protect skin, and help to keep it healthy.
High-oleic Sunflower oil provides more Vitamin E (55.8 mg per 100 g) than any other vegetable oil, and is at least 85% oleic acid.
Why a Sunflower Oil base over Olive Oil?
High-oleic Sunflower oil provides more Vitamin E (55.8 mg per 100 g) than any other vegetable oil, and is at least 85% oleic acid. Sunflower oil is easily absorbed, and is noncomedogenic, and does not aggravate acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
The high in oleic content, Sunflower oil possesses a much longer shelf life than regular Sunflower oil as the natural antioxidants help to prevent rancidity.
Although Olive oil is a wonderful plant oil it does not absorb as easy into skin and leaves a light oily layer to skin Studies show Olive oil can aggravate acne and cause
inflammation in the hair follicles of the skin (comedones). Olive oil should be avoided by those suffering acne, psoriasis, and eczema problems, when the product is intended to be left on the skin and not washed off, as soap is.
Absorption: Each of the 3 oils in this infusion absorb easily into skin.

Skin and Hair
Infusions, are made by macerating plant material in a fixed oil. We do not use heat creating our infused oils, as heat can destroy valuable nutrients in the oils and whole herbs. We make our infusions in small batches to ensure freshness and a longer shelf life. We allow the oils and plants to naturally infuse for weeks at a time, then strain and filter the plant material from the oils. The resulting oil is then ready to be used directly on the skin or hair.

Why Organic
Organically grown food is non-GMO food which is grown and processed without
the use of
harmful synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
Organic produce carries significantly fewer pesticide residues than conventional produce. Pesticides may block the absorption of important food nutrients necessary for normal healthy growth. Another way pesticides may cause harm is if a child's excretory system is not fully developed, the body may not fully remove pesticides. Also, there are critical periods in human development when exposure to a toxin can permanently alter the way an individual's biological system operates.
Organic for Children
The EPA states; infants and children may be especially sensitive to health risks posed by pesticides for several reasons:
-
The internal organs of a child are still developing and maturing and are at a higher risk during the development.
-
In relation to their body weight, infants and children eat and drink more than adults, possibly increasing their exposure to pesticides in food and water.
-
Certain behaviors, such as playing on floors or lawns or putting objects in their mouths, increase a child's exposure to pesticides used in homes and yards.
