Valley Wildlife Care is a non-profit, volunteer organization serving the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas. They are dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating native wildlife species and releasing them back into their natural environment. (How awesome is that!)
VWC is a not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Their mission is to give California's orphaned, ill and injured wildlife a second chance at life through rehabilitation and return to the wild.
Valley Wildlife Care receives NO government funding and rely solely on donations to operate. They intake roughly 2,000 animals each year with hundreds requiring surgery and extensive medical care. Won't you assist them in their mission by donating?

Visit their website and their Facebook page, sit back and enjoy the many photos and stories of little critters they have saved, giving them 2nd chances of life. You will not be disappointed. And if you want to donate to an animal organization, this is one that will make you feel really good.
They also need soft fleece type blankets and sheets. Holes and tears are OK! They go thru many blankets each month for injured mammals. Contact them if you are able to donate these items to them in California at (818) 346-8247

The above photo is a gunshot victim that Valley Wildlife Care treated and rehabilitated. This male coyote had multiple bullets throughout his body, a broken leg, and a displaced hip. He had lost allot of blood and was very weak. Surgeries and 6 months of rehabilitation he was healthy enough to be returned home to his pack. He went home this month, June 2011. The photo is from the day he went home.

A little girl from Colorado continues to make an amazing recovery from cerebral palsy. Her parents say the credit goes to her own umbilical cord blood. Chloe had cerebral palsy caused by a stroke in utero. But her parents had hope. They had banked her umbilical cord blood.
Doctors at Duke University were infusing children with cerebral palsy with their own stem cells to possibly heal brain tissue. Chloe had the experimental procedure in 2008. Two days later she was saying words.

The Raccoon Dog
Cruelty to Animals
It's not a Raccoon, it is a dog. A gorgeous and gentle animal. It is horrifying to think of how some animals are suffering and enduring excruciating deaths, at the hands of humans, because of greed. Is there really any way we can stop it, or control it? I wonder everyday, do we have the ability to stop the cruelty and death of animals. Animals raised only so they can be turned into fur coats, boots, and furry trims, and other items that humans can profit from.
Read this article on the "Raccoon Dog", an amazing little creature that many don't even know exists. The Raccoon Dog is raised only to be brutalized, tortured, and turned into fur coats - because they resemble a raccoon and have beautiful fur? Click here for information and the article, it is not a heartwarming article, but it is very important that people educate themselves about this animal. Please pass it on to your friends, and their friends, and so on - awareness will help to stop these horrifying acts. I pray everyday that somehow we get closer to stopping the insane cruelty - to all animals.

Retailers the Humane Society said sold mislabeled raccoon dog fur included Lord & Taylor, BergdorfGoodman.com, and Neiman Marcus.com. Designers whose clothes were mismarked included Donna Karan's DKNY and Michael Kors. A coat from Oscar de la Renta advertised as raccoon had raccoon dog fur. A spokeswoman for Oscar de la Renta declined to comment.
